Is Symbian Open-source?

Featured Replies

The nokia site mentioned its not.

While http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Symbian says on the first line

This article is about the historical Symbian OS. For the current, open source Symbian platform descended from Symbian OS and S60, see Symbian platform.

s60v5 is not,if it wud have been then some1 wud have definetely modded it 2 luk lyk android! But symbian^3 was or stil is,i m not sure abt symbian^3

Symbian is open-source for the developers only :(

its not actually an open source. . .they hav laid out many terms and conditions in the license agreement making it partially open source. If u r a developer and has developer account at nokia, you could request for the codes apart frm sdk by mailing them. Acceptance of the request solely depends/lies with nokia at the End.

Why hasn't anyone leaked it then?

really? Omg, then publish them so others use can use them to make symbian better.

I suppose I cant....as he dont wish to make it public

he clearly mentioned not to upload it anywhere on internet..

BTW, I dont have the whole files....just some of them

Vizigal got much more files than me from Coderus..he once said me about this.
