Is it possible to root the pantech burst without a pc and how can I get rid of att software? Please help! Thank you!

It is not possible without PC. It can be rooted easily from Linux PC. May be possible to root with the help of another android phone, but don't take risk. After rooting install custom ROM like Gizmolord V.3 B after following the instructions given in this site. Most of the ATT applications are removed in the said Custom Rom.
