Posted March 22, 201212 yr comment_23981 For almost as long as the Nokia N9 has been around there was chatter about it running Android apps and dreams of it running Android and MeeGo dual boot style well...that day is here! There is a little project known simply as the NITDroid project who just released a beta version of their software to make the N9 just that a dual boot MeeGo/Android phone! While I will not give you whole list of "things expected to work" here is the most important few: - dualboot kernel (without reflashing), ability to choose OS after power on. - 3D drivers, OpenGL - hwrotation (portrait mode only, accelerometer HAL doesn't work) - touchscreen (multitouch) - hw buttons (volume, power) If you want to see them all you Check It Out Here Here is a short clip of Android 4.0.3 ICS running on a Nokia N9 http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ponaehOrFN8 Mind you I will not be flashing my N9 to make this happen (not quite yet anyway) but this is still really sweet and shows the power that a truly open platform has. If anyone is more daring than me and wants to see if they can make work on their N9 the link for thtz here. If anything happens though remember I told you not to do it. (But still feel free to leave something in comments to let me know how it worked out for you.)
