u'll find a file called Msgstore.db which stores the messages under private/2002B30D which will be present in either C: or E: depending on where u installed whatsapp. To recover it after flashing, create the folder 2002B30D under the E: private folder and place the file Msgstore.db inside the folder. Then use the E: modded whatsapp and install in E: . After that just run the app, let it load etc and ur done, if u dont see any messages at 1st don't be alarmed, just go to favorites and click on a friend that uve had a conversation and have chats saved of and u should be able to see the backed up messages.
