Don't laugh: ) - I dont own an Expensive Galaxy,

I have a more down to earth Videocon V7400 :)

Is there a way , or general approach to upgrade Android Phones...

which I could utilize to get my phone upgraded.

There isnt any developer support for videocon phones.. !!!
